REDUCED RATES FOR ISLANDERS ALL YEAR ROUND

Residents living on Brittany’s southern islands can count on reliable ferry crossings to get them to the mainland and back again as needed all year round. As such, the public service delegation contract, steered by the Brittany Regional Council, has special offers for island residents to make their regular trips to the mainland easier.

A PASS FOR PERMANENT ISLAND RESIDENTS

Are you a permanent island resident? Then ask for the “islander” pass. The islander card is issued to any physical person able to prove their main residence is on one of the islands called at by La Compagnie Océane. To request a card, please go to your town hall to pick up the necessary form.

Good to know : as of 1 August 2022, the procedure for allocating islander cards for residents living in Le Palais has changed. Please read the relevant information on the town’s website to find out what the new application process is.

ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESS FOR OBTAINING THE ISLANDER PASS

Below is the list of substantiating documents required when applying :

A copy of your tax return sheet, or a copy of the deed certifying the purchase of a main residence on the island (dated less than 6 months ago), or a copy of the of the declaration of completion of works (dated less than 6 months ago) in the case where a new main residence was built, or a copy of your lease;
a copy of each applicant’s ID;
a copy of the family record book if several family members are making a request at the same time;
an ID photo for each applicant;
a copy of the vehicle registration document belonging to the applicant.

The islander status is granted following an examination of the full application by the town hall and region, who will approve the file and transfer it to La Compagnie Océane so your pass can be created.

A PERSONAL TRANSPORT PASS TO THE MORBIHAN ISLANDS

Once your application has been accepted, you and all the members of your family for whom you made a request will receive an “Islander Pass”. This individual card is strictly personal, and valid so long as the person resides on the island. It grants access to the preferential rates detailed above, for all the islands called upon by our ferry lines (except for vehicle crossings, which are only for your island of residence). You must keep the card with you at all times. It will serve as a ticket for each crossing.

THE ISLANDERS’ VEHICLE PASS

Vehicle passes can only be used for crossings between your island of residence and the mainland. They are strictly reserved for islander pass holders, and only valid when said holder is aboard the car. The vehicle islander pass cannot be transferred to another island resident or family member.

BOOKING ISLANDER TICKETS

We recommend booking all your crossings, especially during the peak season and when boarding with a vehicle.
All booked tickets are automatically registered on the islander pass, that will serve as proof of purchase. As such, passes must be presented individually for each crossing.
Any fraudulent use, or use that goes against the General Terms & Conditions of Sale, will result in the pass being withdrawn.
